Fruit growers aren’t the only people gearing up for the citrus season. Just ask Josh Hall, the Operations Manager at our Packing Services center in Exeter, CA.
“The next season begins in October/November, and we’re making sure that everyone’s ready,” he says. “That starts with making sure our own equipment is in good working order. We’re getting our tanks, motors, and pumps ready. We’re maintaining and repairing our brush beds. That way, when it comes time for our customers to start up their season, everything will be ready for them, and they can have more of a turn-key operation when it comes to everything we offer.”
Those offerings include fruit wax, which FGS is proud to produce in-house. Our food-grade wax acts as a second skin for the fruits and veggies that we all love, helping to improve physical appearance, extend shelf life, and increase overall food safety. “We manufacture our wax locally, right here in Exeter,” Hall adds. “It keeps costs low for our customers, because there’s no freight expense coming from out of state.”
FGS was created for growers, by growers, in 1907. We’ve been in the business for more than a century, and we continue to dedicate ourselves to our growers — from pre-harvest to post-harvest. If you’re looking for post-harvest solutions for your own operation, let Josh Hall’s team guide you along.
“Call us up!” he encourages. “We’re ready to help.” Click here to get in touch.
