Fruit Growers Supply is one of the top pallet manufacturers on the West Coast. Our pallets are constructed locally in California, using high-quality hardwoods or softwoods that we’ve sourced from sustainable suppliers. We know that every growing operation is different, which is why we offer eight different styles of pallets — along with custom-designed options — to suit our customers’ shipping and storing needs.
Which type of pallet is best for you? We’ll help break down your selections below, and we’re always just a phone call away.
Standard Reversible Pallets
Standard reversible pallets are extremely versatile, which makes them the most common type of pallet. They have two interchangeable faces — one smooth, one rough — and are ideal for use with a forklift or pallet jack. Also called a “stringer pallet,” these pallets are widely used across multiple industries, including agricultural, dairy, beverages, automotive, chemical, and defense.
Limited Use Pallets
The name says it all. Made from weaker materials like cardboard or plastic, these pallets are designed to be used for a maximum of five to 10 trips. Since they’re light, their load-bearing surface isn’t suitable for heavy loads, nor are they designed to withstand exposure to harsh weather or harmful chemicals. That said, they’re a popular choice for lightweight items due to their affordable pricing and the protection they offer during transit.
Single Face Skid Pallets
Looking to ship something heavy? You might want to try our single face skid pallets, which offer exceptional load-bearing capacity. These wooden pallets are strong and durable, making them useful in farming, manufacturing, and warehousing applications.
Single Wing Pallets
Typically made from softwood lumber, single wing pallets have two identical sides (or “wings”) that hinge along the centerline of the pallet. This design makes them easy to handle and transport. Ideal for use in narrow warehouse aisles, they’re shaped to optimize loading and unloading, and they consist of top deck boards protruding beyond the pallet stringers for easy use with cargo slings, straddle forklift trucks, bars, and conventional transporters and forklift trucks.
Heavy Duty 2-Way Pallets
Designed for heavy loads, our heavy duty 2-way pallets are perfect for shipping and storing large items. They have a capacity of up to 3,000 pounds and can be used with a forklift or pallet jack, which means they remain mobile even while loaded down. Heavy-duty pallets are also very stackable, which makes them an ideal choice for use in warehouses and distribution centers. These pallets vary in type and size, as well.
Block Pallets
Block pallets don’t use traditional stringers; instead, they use strong blocks between the top and bottom boards. With openings on all four sides of the pallet, they can easily accommodate hand-pallet jacks, which ensures four-way entry access. One of the sturdiest types of pallets that we offer, block pallets offer reliable stability for loads on top while also allowing forklifts to enter from any direction.
GMA 4-Way Pallets
GMA stands for “Grocery Manufacturers Association.” Like block pallets, these four-way pallets offer forklift entry from all four sides. They’re available in new, recycled softwood and hardwood varieties and have an overall footprint of 40″ x 48″, as well as a load-bearing capacity of 2,500 lbs up to 4,600 lbs. Strong and versatile, it’s no wonder they’re the industry standard for food industry transportation pallets.
Double Wing Pallets
Double wing pallets are best used for lifting and storage purposes. They have wings that protrude from the top and bottom of the pallet, which significantly increase the surface area that products can be placed on. This, in turn, increases the overall unit-load area. They’re also made in various pallet construction styles and dimensions, including stringer and block pallet varieties.
