As the summertime comes to a close and colder nights approach, now is the time to protect your trees against frost.

Each season, frost catches growers off guard, and the result is costly tree and crop damage that could have been prevented with a little preparation.

That’s why our supply centers are offering a variety of seasonal discounts during the remainder of the year. In addition to our fully stocked inventory of irrigation parts, ag tools, fertilizers, and harvesting supplies, we carry many items to safeguard your trees against the elements.

From now until September 30, we’re offering a 10% discount on tree wraps. Protect young trees from frost, rodents, and sunscald. Always replace your wraps each fall for maximum protection.

During the month of October, we will offer a 10% discount on tree gloves. Developed by Visalia-based brothers after freezing temperatures caused widespread damage to their family’s citrus grove in December 2013, tree gloves are nylon-made mesh bags that trap heat and moisture, creating a wet microclimate around the tree itself. With proper irrigation, these heavy-duty gloves can increase tree canopy temperatures by up to 15°F, providing crucial protection during cold spells.

Looking ahead to November, our supply stores will offer a 10% discount on tree props. Strong, reliable supports to keep trees standing tall through the winter. A simple safeguard against storm and frost damage.

Together, these three promotions will help growers protect their trees until springtime arrives.

“During the winter, items like tree gloves, wraps, and props are some of the most popular items in our stores,” says Ron Santiago, Fruit Grower Supply’s Senior Procurement Manager. “Those items are typically sold during times of frost in the valley, because they help protect crops during the wintertime. We want to get ahead of the cold weather and offer discounts now, so our customers can be prepared when winter arrives.”
